Questions
Can my repayments follow my season?
Often, yes. With a chattel mortgage, many lenders will set repayments monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, or lighter in the months when nothing comes in. It’s agreed with the lender at the start, so tell Mark when your farm gets paid and he’ll find a lender that fits.
Why not just use the dealer’s finance or my bank?
The dealer and your bank each offer one lender’s deal. We compare 40, including lenders who understand farm income and will finance used gear and private sales. Dealer 0% is often built into the price, so ask for the cash price too, and Mark will show you which costs less.
Do I have to put the farm up as security?
Usually not. Machinery finance is normally secured on the machine itself, so your land stays out of it. If your deal needs extra security, Mark will tell you upfront.
